EXT-002: Visits by Ambassadors and Senior Foreign Government Officials

Creates guidelines for inviting ambassadors and senior foreign government officials to visit the University in order to deconflict and appropriately coordinate their visits.
- Terms:There are no terms that require definition.
Any University official who plans to host (or is aware of the possibility of a visit from) an ambassador or senior foreign government official (i.e., head of state, prime minister, government minister, political party leader at the national level, or senior judicial authority from a foreign government) should inform the Office of the Vice Provost for Global Affairs (VPGA). The VPGA will (1) maintain a central register of such invitations and visits; and (2) provide timely professional advice and, when possible, assistance to make such a visit beneficial for all involved. Written invitations to ambassadors or senior foreign government officials must be sent from the President’s Office.
Compliance with Policy:
Failure to comply with the requirements of this policy may result in disciplinary action up to and including termination or expulsion in accordance with relevant University policies.
